Interesting.
You do not even have read permissions on those folders. Thats how you get that icon.
When you look at the permissions on the desktop folder what do they say ?

They both say Read and Write
same here. I pull up the GET INFO option and change everything to READ & WIRTE ...but the red minus will not go away, nor can I open the folder...
